Baumgartner says that covering yourself with designer labels can also be a problem and that it's often a symptom of wanting to be seen as someone who would buy expensive clothes, purses, and jewelry. This can be caused by a person feeling bad about themselves or self-conscious and wanting to improve their image in others' eyes by wearing the Dolce & Gabbana or Prada. Baumgartner suggests looking at each label item and asking yourself if you would wear it or use it if it wasn't a designer brand. If you wouldn't, toss it.
