Amy MacKinnon, a former congressional aide, is a freelance writer whose essays have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, the Washington Post, Seattle Times, Boston Globe, Huffington Post, Boston Herald, Sacramento Bee, Patriot Ledger, and on National Public Radio affiliates.
Her debut novel "Tethered" (Random House) sold to 10 foreign publishers, and was chosen by Borders for their Original Voices program and a Target Original Voices Pick.
Ms. MacKinnon began her writing career at the age of 11 when she wrote the Father-of-the-Year Committee in New York City, nominating her dad. He won. She lives outside of Boston with her husband, their three teenagers, two cats, and English bulldog, Babe. Her website is amymackinnon.com.
