Ian Evans has been a London correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor since 2011 principally reporting on England. He has covered subjects as diverse as politics to the London summer riots of 2011, and the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth to the creeping CCTV surveillance culture in the UK.
Between 2007 and 2011 he contributed to the Monitor when working as a freelance southern Africa correspondent based in Cape Town.
Trained in the UK, Ian has been a journalist for more than 20 years. As well as the CSM, he has written for a wide range of publications including Time, The Times of London, Telegraph, Daily Mail, South African Sunday Times, Johannesburg Star, New Zealand Herald and The Australian among others.
He is married and has three children.
