Daniel Wood was the LA bureau chief for the Monitor and was with the paper from 1976 to 2015. During that time he held a variety of positions in both Los Angeles and Boston. They include four years as assistant editor of the weekly international edition and several year stints each as special magazine section writer, travel, television, arts/culture, economics, and news writer.
In 1987, he won First Place in the New England Associated Press New Executives Association for a national series about peacemakers. In 2007 he won First Place in the National Press Club Journalism awards for humor. He is a graduate of Miami University in political science with a graduate degree in Journalism from Ohio State University.
