Israeli premier sees pullout in Lebanon in 6 to 9 months
Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres said Wednesday his government hopes to withdraw some 10,000 Israeli occupation troops from southern Lebanon within six to nine months, and said he would like to see a UN force move into the region.
The prime minister wound up his Washington visit yesterday with a general expression of US support for his country's financial problems, but with no specific commitment for any new aid.
