Reagan to discuss Lebanon with Mubarak, Hussein

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is due to meet with President Reagan tomorrow to discuss the deteriorating situation in Lebanon and US military and economic aid to his country. Mubarak was scheduled to meet today with Jordan's King Hussein and US Secretary of State George Shultz.
Before flying to Washington from Paris Saturday, Mubarak said a Franco-Egyptian peace plan for the Middle East would be discussed with the United States. The joint plan, first presented to the United Nations Security Council in 1982, called for Palestinian self-determination, including the right to an independent state and mutual recognition between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
King Hussein was due to meet both Reagan and Shultz today and Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger on Tuesday for talks also expected to cover the Lebanese situation and military assistance. Reagan will hold a working luncheon for King Hussein and President Mubarak later this week, the White House said Saturday.
