Sudanese Army says it quashed provincial revolt
| Khartoum, Sudan
The south Sudan is under control after the Army quelled a mutiny among its forces, senior officials said. Earlier, a Sudanese Army statement said the mutiny broke out Sunday in a battalion of the southern region. It said that signs of lack of discipline, caused by foreign contacts and instigations, escalated into disobeying orders and that the Army suppressed the rebellion with successful military operations. Sudan has repeatedly accused Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi of meddling.
