W. German minister hints at summits with East

West Germany's Minister for Inter-German Relations, in an unexpectedly conciliatory statement, raised the prospect of regular East-West German summits. In a radio interview, Heinrich Windelen also suggested for the first time that Bonn was prepared to reach an accommodation with East Berlin over a key East German demand for a revision of their border on the Elbe River. He said he believed East Germany was increasingly prepared to seek practical agreements.
