Nicaraguan censors quash news on Salvadoran vote
| Managua, Nicaragua
Government censors stopped publication of a Nicaraguan newspaper headline proclaiming ''the vote wins'' and called the elections in El Salvador a farce.
US observers said the elections were an overwhelming success and represented a defeat for the Salvadoran guerrillas.
For the second time in five days the newspaper La Prensa refused to print because censors had eliminated more than half the front page under a March 15 state of emergency.
