Some 100 interned Poles indicted, may face trial

Senior Polish officials said about 100 people, including Solidarity activists who were arrested in the martial-law crackdown, have been indicted and may be put on trial.

Government spokesman Jerzy Urban said the proceedings against internees ''will be for offenses such as trying to form illegal political parties.''

The statements confirmed information received weeks ago from private sources that at least 12 former key Solidarity activists and dissidents were held under ''investigatory detention'' at Warsaw's Bialoleka prison.
