Teamsters union OKs new trucking contract
| Washington
Rank-and-file truck drivers and warehouse workers overwhelmingly ratified a new 37-month contract with the trucking industry which ''protects Teamsters' jobs while hopefully restoring losses caused by deregulation of the trucking industry,'' Teamsters union president Roy L. Williams announced.
The union did not announce the contents of the agreement, effective immediately and running through March 1985, which covers 300,000 members and sets the pattern for thousands more in the 1.8 million-member union.
