Swedes press questioning of Soviet sub skipper

Swedish naval officers will continue their grilling today (Nov. 4) of Soviet submarine Capt. Pyotr Gushin - still not satisfied with the answers he has given them for his presence in a top secret military area well inside Swedish waters, Monitor contributor Chris Mosey writes.

The submarine went aground last week, causing a major international incident in which Sweden forced an official apology from the Soviet Union for the submarine's violation of Swedish neutrality and won the right to interrogate the captain and examine his vessel.

Sweden also forced the Russians to pay for dragging the sub clear Monday.
